Slant collects no personal data. It has no internet permission, so it can't send anything anywhere. We have no servers for it, no accounts, no advertising and no analytics.
The camera
Slant uses your camera to show the live picture and name the colours in it. The picture is processed on your phone, frame by frame, and never leaves it unless you share it. Slant doesn't save photos or videos to your gallery, and it doesn't keep the camera picture after you close it.
Sharing
When you freeze the picture and tap Share, Slant makes one picture on your phone (the frame, the colour names and a line of text with a link to Slant on Google Play) and opens your phone's share sheet. You choose which app gets it; Slant itself sends nothing. The picture sits in the app's temporary cache until the next share replaces it.
What stays on your phone
Two things are saved, in the app's own storage on your phone:
- Your notebook: when you tap Save after comparing colours, Slant keeps the colour names and a small picture (96 by 96 pixels) of each thing you tapped, with the time you saved it. It keeps the latest 200. You can delete any entry in the notebook.
- Your settings: which pair of colours you tuned the patterns for, how strong they are, and whether names are simple or detailed.
Other apps can't read them, and neither can we. Uninstalling Slant deletes them.
What the app sends
Nothing. Slant has no internet permission, and it works offline. A picture you share goes through the app you pick, not through Slant.
Children
Slant is suitable for everyone and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Laws
Because no personal data leaves the phone, we don't process personal data under the EU and UK GDPR or the CCPA. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent in the app first.
Changes
Any change to this policy will appear here with a new date.
