Hilal Sky collects no personal data. We have no servers for it, no accounts, no advertising and no analytics.

Location

If you allow it, Hilal Sky reads your phone's approximate (coarse) location to draw your horizon and compute tonight's sky. The location is used on your phone only. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored beyond what the app needs to show your sky. You can say no and pick a city from the built-in list instead.

What stays on your phone

Your settings (language, place, the authority you follow) and your "I saw it" sightings are saved in the app's own storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them. We can't see them.

What the app sends

Nothing. All the astronomy runs on the phone, and the app works offline.

Children

Hilal Sky is suitable for everyone and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Laws

Because no personal data leaves the phone, we don't process personal data under the EU and UK GDPR, Saudi Arabia's PDPL, the UAE's PDPL, Pakistan's or Indonesia's data protection laws, or the CCPA. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent inside the app first.

Any change to this policy will appear here with a new date.
